A totally wireless camera will need to be powered by batteries, and these batteries will need to be replaced often, meaning the person would need access to your room at regular intervals, say every week. The battery in question is 99% likely to be a rectangular 9V battery. If the camera isn't powered by batteries, that means it must be getting it's power from somewhere. Assuming the person isn't an electrician, that means the power must be coming from a power outlet somewhere. Second, the camera itself is not as small as they appear in the movies. Spy cameras you can buy off the internet tend to be around an inch squared, so with a bit of searching, shouldn't be too hard to find. The easiest way to look for a camera is to think like the person that put it there. What is this person trying to see, and where is the best place to put it to see that. For example, if you think this person is trying to see your computer screen, then which places in your room give the best view of the screen? Among those places, which are cluttered enough to disguise an inch square black box? If the camera transmits the video tirelessly, then the tiny camera will be connected directly into a larger black box, about the size of a fairly bulky mobile phone. This should make finding the camera much easier. This is the type of camera that camera detectors can find, and it's also the most common type available to buy on the net. Non-wireless cameras must run a thin lead to the camera from the recorder, so these are not very popular. However, the video wire can be much thinner than a power wire, so keep that in mind when looking. Finally, as for recording, the camera would be passing it's signal to some device in a relatively close range, such as the same building. If it is being passed into a computer, the computer would have to be always on to be recording constantly, so if you know the person on facebook or MSN messenger, check to see if they are always online, but often "Idle" or "Away". I have given you as much information as I can on the readily available cameras on the net, but keep in mind that, if they have a budget over $5000 or so, then this can all change. Also keep in mind that there are likely no hidden cameras, and be sure never to accuse someone without solid proof. Hope that helps. |

| There are a lot of wireless/nanny cameras out on the market now, but you are probably going to need a night time/low light camera if lighting is not practical in your driveway. Then you will also need to decide how you want to store your video either on a PC or VCR.
